Here we have a new Darkhawk commission by French artist Laetitia Bachellez (HollyBell on DeviantArt.com – gallery link). This was another attempt at me to get outside the comfort-zone by choosing an artist that wasn’t immediately comfortable taking on a fan-boy commission like this. Her art had a whimsical nature to it and I think she did a great job here with good ol’ DH!

She’s mixed a bit of the old school armor with a bit of the 2.0 slickness. Still sporting the (in)famous claw grappling hook and blockey shoulder pads but featuring a more organic feathery design for the glider wings that reference the newest War of Kings design more than any others. It should be noted that although I call them “glider wings” they actually became obsolete in the original early 90s series around the late 20s when Darkhawk learned to fly without grappling hook support.
