YES! Take a look at this masterpiece! This is officially the first fan submission for the Darkhawk Zone–and it is the awesomeness! I was listening in on the Twitterverse for mentions of “Darkhawk” before this site was even up. My devotion to the character andĀ resurgenceĀ of enthusiasm post-War of Kings made me hungry for more DH goodness that I just couldn’t get fast enough from marvel proper.
That ease dropping led me to user MiskatonicU who mentioned he was going to collect all his Darkhawk issues into a hardcover bound collection. My mind was blown. How cool would this be? How could it even be done?! Could I ever let go of my bag-and-boarded collection to follow suit as well?!?
Well, I reached out to MiskatonicU to dig for more info. He was nice enough to provide it AND give some images of the completed product so that I could show all you DHers and give you an alternative for your singles collections. MiskatonicU is doing up a Volume 2 which will cover the remaining half of the original series, and then a Volume 3 which will include all of Darkhawk’s appearances.
I mean, seriously, look at how cool that spine frigging looks! It’s not like Marvel will give us an Essentials like Nova got, or a Classics run like the old New Mutants and X-Factor are getting, right? So tempting… sooo tempting…
This was done at the Library Binding Company in Texas and cost about $25 a book (UPS shipping extra), for 3 DH volumes and a complete Sleepwalker series (collecting those singles still… ugh… so hard to find…). Seriously folks-25 BUCKS! That’s it! It’s a great deal for this great work. Droooooool…

When I read the headline I was in shock – could Marvel really be giving us a DH HC?!?!!! But of course it was too good to be true. Still, this is VERY sweet. Might be worth picking up a complete run on eBay to transform that into a HC edition like the above!
Hahaha… ya Marvel would be too irrational for something like this
. It actually got me looking up book binding places near Waterloo, Ontario. Found one and contacted them to find prices. I encourage anyone else to also do a Google search for “book binding [city]” and find something nearby so you can avoid shipping collections off to them.
Droooool. How did I miss this months ago? That is incredible. Very tempting idea. I hate long boxes anyway.
