Anyone remember these? I got a massive red binder full of these three-hole-punched character sheets. Here’s the Darkhawk entry out of the 16th package, released in 1991. Darkhawk made it into the stack as a rookie.
It’s fun to see “Edge-Man” as a “former alias” when it was only really used once in the series–right at the beginning when Chris was confused about what he should call himself. Is it a coincidence that his body’s previous host was called “Razor” or is this just a pleasant callback?
Always fascinates me to see “former alias” including the likes of Daredevil and Moon Knight. In Daredevil’s case it was one issue and the “teamup” was more like Darkhawk getting schooled in heroics by Captain America an Daredevil. Now in Caps, case, Darkhawk became an Avenger for a short time, so I can see how that pans out. Moon Knight was part of a collective teamup in the Sidekick’s Revenge story arc in Spider-Man. If anything I read that hoping they HAD teamed up more often–but alas I feel that in regards to that plot, Darkhawk and Moon Knight didn’t really form a long lasting “team up relationship”. That’s just, like, my opinion man.
Final nit pick is that all-in-all Darkhawk is just… normal… really? I guess while in the rookie mode, DH didn’t do anything too fascinating that a “normal” dude pumped on adrenaline couldn’t achieve. But pretty early in the series he starts pulling some pretty remarkable strength feats like lifting a massive boulder, throwing a car, etc. If only they could have flash-forwarded to the current power levels of good ol’ bucket head… all grown ups and stuff… all cosmic hero-ey goodness.
