NunoXEI Note: This M&M Superlink writeup for Darkhawk was found on the Atomic Think Tank, done by “Voltage Drop”. I have only reorganized the order of his character build but have changed nothing else. If someone wishes to format this information into the M&M Superlink standard please send me the final copy so that I can update this post.

Biography: High school student Chris Powell discovers an amulet that swaps his body with that of an android. Taking the name “Darkhawk” from a homeless man who seemed to know more that he let on, Chris tries to scare off a crime lord that’s threatening his family. Chris’ mother is assistant D.A. and trying to convict the crime lord, Philippe Bazin. Chris’ father, Mike Powell, is a cop with some dirty secrets. The night Chris finds the amulet, he sees his father take a payoff from Bazin’s men and run off. His image of his father shattered, Chris vows to live up to the ideals his father taught him but couldn’t meet himself. He tries to balance crime fighting with school and a disintegrating home life, with mixed results.

Voltage Drop’s Editor Notes:

  • These stats are based off Darkhawk around the time of Darkhawk issue #1 right after Chris finds the amulet. Later in the series he gets an upgraded android body feel free to take these stats and adjust them as you see fit for the upgrade if needed.
  • First, when I looked at the Marvel stats, I noticed that his Reason was Poor, this means his Intelligence should be less than average (10). I then checked his Fighting, which is Typical. I take this to mean average. I lowered his Base Attack to +5.
  • For the grappling hook, I used Snare but added the Swinging extra. I then went back to the feats and took several that only applied to the grappling hook. This would give him a total of +16 (or +17 w/in 30 feet) to hit with his grappling hook (this improves by +1 when flying). His range increment is improved with Far Shot. There was no maximum range listed, but 1500 feet seems rather far. I reduced this to 750 feet. That’s pretty good range.
  • His senses were where I ran into extra points with nothing to do with them. I decided to spend them by granting Telescopic Sense, Linked to Super-Skill (Spot), and Boost (Super-Skill).
  • I then looked at his Psyche. This represents how well he can withstand mental assaults. Since I could, I maxed out his Amazing Save. I know that it is more than he should have, but I had enough points to make almost everything maxed out.
  • I had a few points left over so I took some liberties and gave him a few feats that I thought would help him, but there was no support for them.
  • I chose not to post Chris Powell’s stats in human form due to the fact that they are average stats. In other words Chris is such a normal kid that any average human NPC stats would do in a pinch.
