Look who made it into the “Avengers, The Ultimate Guide” book released in 2005! That’s right, Darkhawk somehow managed to be significant enough in his limited Avenger appearances to be listed officially in more than a handful of places.
He made a few appearances near the end of his orignal run (3 issues and an annual), and some cameos in the late-90s Avengers that went absolutely nowhere, and the War Machine MAX miniseries–that was not only out of Marvel Continuity, it was only but the husk of Darkhawk (literally), and well, mostly best forgotten overall. But somehow, he’s left a mark. I can’t complain of course, I just feel like his underwhelming presence on anything Avengers is given too much weight for newcomers to the Darkhawk fan club.
Chris Powell jumps between teams like a flee looking for a new body to carry it. It’s cool, I just feel like if Marvel is going to make him and OFFICIAL Avenger, even on a “guest” status, you’d think he’d have gotten more that half a dozen panel appearances in one of the books since 1995. Sheesh.
