There’s some new original Darkhawk art pages up on Ebay. This recent set is from War of Kings: Ascension #3 by Wellinton Alves. The art measures 11″ x 17″, graphite on cardstock and most of the issue’s pages currently listed.

I can see how these pages may be a little harder to get rid of from a “Darkhawk fan” perspective. Case being that most of the third issue of this series dealt with Chris Powell wrapping up his personal journey within his own consciousness… well kinda… just read the issue if you haven’t! Essentially, artwise it’s very Darkhawk “light” and captures Chris in that techno-organic-ish-ey state as shown in Page 1 above.

Many more pages deal with the interactions between Chris and a skrull prisoner who is dying and wants to get out of the Darkhawk crystal process so the backgrounds are left blank for a digital process much like the second example above. Actually, the skrull character was a really GREAT character and I wish more was done with him, but alas, this non-typical skrull must serve his storytelling purpose.

But hell, we’re given a return to CLASSIC Darkhawk design when he comes through… well, except that his hand turns into a cannon-thing… excuse me, while typing this post I just realized how much I want to go back and read this series…
