Do you remember my post a month ago concerning Nova leaving the Secret Avengers and asking the question: Will Darkhawk take his place? Well folks, I am not alone in this thought process. Even better still is that there are more signs that this possibility is closer to being true as new issues come out.
CosmicBookNews breaks down the recent thoughts, from the point of view of none other than Steve Rogers himself via the new issue of Heroic Age: Heroes.
- Steve mentions the events that played out during War of Kings, the awakening of the Fraternity of Raptors, and Chris’ connection to the Order via the amulet.
- Steve mentions that Darkhawk used to be an Avenger (West Coast) and the fact that he is human, “deserves” our help.
- Steve also says that he will encourage Nova to put him in contact with Darkhawk!
- At the end of Secret Avengers #4 with Nova flying off to deal with more cosmic stuff, Steve and Sharon Carter discussed needing another cosmic hero to replace Nova.
First off, now I need to pick up the Heroic Age: Heroes single issue. I need to read this stuff myself with dreamy eyes of hopefulness! Second, the only way I’d buy an Avengers book is if Darkhawk was a regular. Nothing against the Avengers perse, I just don’t care much for Marvel continuity “proper”. Too much all over the place. I’d love to see Darkhawk back on a team though… any team.

I picked up the (re-titled) “Heroic Age: Super-Heroes” one-shot this week. Of further interest to DH fans:
*The Loners have an entry
*Portal (!) has an entry
I know DH will be back soon (see my CBR question a couple weeks ago), but the wait is killing me:

This is one awesome piece of news yet for DH but i’m still hoping he appears somehow in Thanos Imperative storyline. *fingers crossed*
This is a great piece of info! I hope Darkhawk shows up as part of the Secret Avengers. That would be great. Being under the leadership of Steve Rogers is exactly what DH needs to bring him to the next level.
I also hope DH is in the Thanos Imperitive. I’d like to see DH become a heavy hitter on the same level as Beta Ray Bill. Beta Ray Bill is also an Android… and on the same power level as Thor. I think DH could get there… but as a more versatile, swiss army knife type of character.
I wonder how many android configurations he can actually summon? Is there a “Hulkbuster” version?
There are so many places you could go with character… I so hope Marvel establishes him as a mainstream hero.
Darkhawk movie anyone?
